I believe the membership communication methods we are currently utilizing could be improved upon. The U.S. postal mail is often not delivered in a timely fashion - or sometimes not at all. Many members don’t have a Groupwise email account or a personal email account registered with us. Also, many do not have access to the internet to look at our website. Others, are not familiar with the locations of our bulletin boards throughout the health system.

I would like to implement a new system; however, I need your assistance. My goal is to have 2 – 3 contact people per UAW cost center number depending on the size of each department. The “contact” people will be sent UAW Local 4911 information for events, news, meetings, etc., to them personally via email or fax. They will be our “work-site” contacts who will then post announcements, materials, etc., in their departments or verbally spread the word to their co-workers. This system will ultimately enable the UAW to reach more people with our information.
